not be assigned to a job at a meet, but are required to help Shepherd’s
with relays. Floaters cannot leave until the end of the meet, as
jobs may come up later in the day. (You may be asked to work as
a timer, so this job may not be appropriate if you are going to
be alone with a small child). |

computer generated labels onto ribbons and filing ribbons into family
folders. You will need to check in at the beginning of the meet

| There are 2 relays and
5 individual events that require a shepherd for 6u and 7/8 age group.

to the correct lane, reminding them of the stroke they are to swim,
and encouraging them as they wait their turn. You must stay in the
lane until all swimmers in your group are in the water. Check in
with the Head Shepherd during swimmer warm ups (at least 30 minutes
prior to the start of the meet) who will then assign you to a lane
and give you a list of swimmers for the entire meet. The “Kid Finder”
will help you locate missing swimmers. A nice way to be able to
stay with your child before they swim (if 6u & 7/8 age group). This
job will accommodate those with small children, as you can bring
them with you while you shepherd. |

job is a great way to see all the action in the pool. Must be 18
years or older. Not recommended if you are alone with a small child
to take care of during the meet. |
